Motion design and 3D characters for educational platform Archipel Academy. In 2022 I worked on the question "how can we make the brand feel more fun and personal". To further enhance the user experience, we have brought the company's mascot, Archi, to life. Together with Alex Munz, I created a playful look and feel for user interactions.
Take a look at the website for the full experience: https://archipelacademy.com/ Commissioned by Key Agency. Archi who?
Yes, Archi! Meet Archipel Academy's cheeky mascot. For Archipel Academy's rebranding we wanted to make the brand feel more fun and personal, Archi played a huge role in this. By creating a character to represent the brand, people automatically feel more connected with Archipel Academy. In total we developed multiple character explorations, a character sheet, 3D models and multiple character and prop animations. Website Demo's
While designing the website, we had some unique features in mind, such as a horizontal scroll, a slider navigation bar and elements that react to your scrolling position. In order to communicate those features well, I animated samples of those. The animations also proved to be very handy when briefing the developers on how the site should react to certain interactions. Here is an early stage animated website demo: Explainers
When landing on the website, Archipel wanted to explain to potential customers all the different services they offer. Keeping performance in mind, we decided to create versions: a long and a short one. The short animation is shown on the homepage and functions as a teaser. When the user clicks on the animation, the long version will be opened. |
